Do players have to pay to take part in the Journey To The Forty game?
No, it is free for our players and will remain that way permanently.
Who can play in the game?
You must be 16 or over and live in the Swansea Bay region.
16 and 17 year olds must get permission from a parent or other guardian to appear in a video.
I want to be a player in the game, how long will I appear in a video?
Between 15 and 30 seconds.
I want to be a player in the game, where do I provide my name and phone number?
Go to 'Our Players' page and enter your details.
Your personal details will remain confidential.
Who can be a Sponsor?
Sponsors are invited from around the world.
You must be 18 or over.
How is Journey to the Forty funded?
Through sponsors and advertising from artists, illustrators, crafters, photographers, content creators or anyone else with a photo or video to show.
Sponsors and advertisers take no part in the game, they can upload suitable photos or videos to the site which will appear in a YouTube video in a gallery alongside our game.
How much is it to be a Sponsor?
It's free for the first video, after this the fee is:
For UK residents, £25.
For USA residents, approximately $34.
For all other countries, your equivalent rate.
Please note, exchange rate can vary up or down.
How much is it to be a Main Video Sponsor?
If based in the UK, £175.
For USA, approximately $238.
For all other countries, your equivalent rate.
Please note, exchange rate can vary up or down.

Go to the Shop, select 'Journey To The Forty Sponsor' and make payment.

You can also upload your photo or video, if you have one, on the same form.
What payments do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards on a secure payment page in the Shop.
What will I receive as an Individual Sponsor?
Acknowledgement in the video with your first name, town or city and country where you live.
The option to upload a photo or short video which will appear on YouTube.
What will I/We receive as a Business Sponsor?
Acknowledgement with your business name or logo (optional), town or city and country where you are based.
The option to upload a photo or short video which will appear on YouTube.
Advertising and promotion.
Include your website name if you have one, useful if you are selling your work, merchandise or offering a service.
What will I/We receive as the Main Video Sponsor?
For businesses based in the UK, you will have the option to have a say in which prizes are offered to our winning players.
Acknowledgement with your business name or logo (optional), town or city and country where you are based.
The option to upload a photo or short video which will appear on YouTube.
Advertising and short bio of your business.
Include your website name if you have one, useful if you are selling your work, merchandise or offering a service.

In addition, if you are uploading an image or video, any description that you provide will appear next to the image or video in the completed video on YouTube.
Can I be a Sponsor without uploading a photo or video?
Yes, be part of the journey with or without content.
You will receive acknowledgement for being a Sponsor.
Can you keep Sponsors and game players informed about
when the video will be uploaded to YouTube?
Yes, once the first players have had their scenes filmed, a date for video upload to YouTube will be displayed on the home page.
Information about video updates will include for example:
'Scenes being filmed now'
'Editing video now'
'Video uploaded to YouTube.'
What is the prize for the game winner?
For full details, take a look on the 'Prize' page.
Where do you film the scenes?
Around Swansea and Mumbles.
Outdoors at the beach and promenade, parks and gardens.
Indoors in pubs, coffee shops, cafes and restaurants.
How long will it take to complete the video?
The video will be uploaded to YouTube two weeks after first scenes are filmed.
Sponsors are invited while scenes are being filmed.
Once filming starts, a date for 'Uploaded to YouTube' will be on the home page.
Sponsor content upload file size type and limits.
Your photo files should be in JPG, JPEG or PNG format.
File size up to 20MB.
For video, MP4 format.
Your video file size can be up to 100MB.
As a Sponsor, how long will my image or video be displayed for in your video?
35 seconds for a photo.
Up to 30 seconds for video.
Of course, the completed video can be paused for a longer look if needed.
Do I have to be owner of the photo or video for it to be accepted?
Yes, it is important that you own the photo or video or get permission from the owner before you upload your file to this site.
Journey to the Forty displays content in good faith and relies on Sponsors to provide correct and honest information.
What is the duration of each completed video on YouTube?
Between 22 and 29 minutes.
How many Sponsors will be in each video?
Currently up to 20.
How can content creators, artists, crafters and photographers get their work included?
For photos, you will need to take a clear and in focus photograph of your work.
Take a photo in good light, preferably natural light in the morning hours.
Be careful not to capture window glare, you could try photographing at an angle in this case.
My art/photography is for sale, can you include information about my website?
Yes, be sure to add these details when you fill in the form on 'Be a Sponsor' page.
Your website details will appear on the 'Sponsors' page on this website.
Can my image or video be uploaded straight from my phone?
Yes, the upload process is designed to be quick and easy, they can be uploaded from a phone or your computer.
Are their any checks in place to ensure content is suitable?
Yes. Journey to the Forty is intended to be enjoyed by all members of the family.
All photos and videos will be verified, unsuitable content will not be considered for inclusion in a video.
As a Sponsor, what information do you need from me?
Full Name (only your first name will be displayed in a video, unless you opt in for full name).
Business name if applicable.
Town or City where you live.
Country where you live.
Email address required for order receipt to be sent.
All personal information provided will remain confidential, except for your first name.
For privacy reasons, only your first name will be shown in a video, you can opt in to include your full name if you wish.
